Hey Family,
To start this week we only had one lesson, so that means we hit the streets and do contacts until 830ish.... and let me tell you when you do contacts for 6, or 7 hours you start losing the energy. Especially when nothing comes out of it. On Tuesday we met this women who seemed like she wanted to hear our message... she came up to us and asked some questions and it was going really good.... and then it turned into a small biblebash... and yeah she just wanted to fight with us... I did pretty good showing scriptures that I remember from seminary and my studies...I held my ground, but she wasn't going to be convinced, and my companion was getting really frustrated, so I stopped, gave her a Book of Mormon and said we had to go... So quarta we had a lesson with this rich old dude... he loves us and he loves the tab choir, so we were teaching and all was going well and then he said this "I thought God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost are all one person"..... I just stopped and smashed my Book of Mormon in my face..... wow, what did the other elders teach you... yeah so that was a fun night. Thursday was good, I found a really cool tie on the ground. The next day we had a meeting with the president about, the world cup, so we are not allowed to do any work on the days of the Brazil games, because the whole world here will be drunk so we need to be safe. He said we can go to members houses and watch the games, but be careful, so that is something new. Later that night we had an appointment with a person, we went over and they didn't open up the door. I called and she was like who is it, and I was like "hey, it's the elders" and she was like "yeah don't ever came back", and hung up, yeah that was nice.... my comp had died at this point, I went up to this person... and I know it was the gift of the Holy Ghost, I spoke with this guys in perfect portuguese with no accent. I asked were we could get a bus, and I talked with him, I said words I didn't know but they worked... wow that was a gift. The next day church was normal. It has been a hard and trying week, I have learned a lot... and I love to read the scriptures, the bible, and the missionary books. I can't put any of them down, I wish I had more time to study. It is crazy how much time I wasted in my youth. I could have learned so much, I am reading so much every day, and my testimony is growing. This church is so true, I see miracles every day. I learned to speak Portuguese in 4 months. I can teach people about the gospel in their own language and bring them closer to Christ. Our mission is to bring souls unto Christ, and if we just bring one how happy we will be. This mission I have saved myself, I have brought myself closer to Christ. I have never felt his love like this before. This church is so true, the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the words of God together. I know my purpose on this earth, I know where I want to go, and I know how to get there. This church is the true and everlasting church on the earth today. "Choose ye this day who you will serve, but as for me and my house we will serve the lord."

Hey Family,
Wow where do I start.... so on Tuesday we didn't have transfers because it was the protesting and the world cup... On Tuesday night at 11:48, we got a call saying that we were having transfer the next day. Everyone started packing besides me, I am staying. The next day I got my comp. He's a brazilin and he doesn't speak a word a English.... so yeah wild card.. we went back to our house and unpacked cleaned and talked a little bit, about what's going on and our likes and dislikes. Then he cleaned the whole house... like a crazy man. He loves a clean house and loves keeping everything super organized.... so that's cool, they say he is the only elder who is like this. It's kind of cool, and nice to have someone as clean as me. The next day we did contacts and worked hard, but nothing happened. Let me say I am doing all the talking, when he wants a candy or anything he makes me do the talking. He doesn't like to talk with people that he doesn't really know, so yeah over night I am doing all the talking. I do all the street contacts. Saturday we were walking past a candy apple stand and the person was like elders, I am a member in another ward, here have theses candy apples, keep up the good work. Wow let me tell you they were amazing, so good. Sunday came and I thought Sunday was a day of rest, well I learned that it is not. The whole ward wanted to talk with me, I was talking to all our investigators, I had some youth need something from me, all the sisters in the ward needed me, wow it was crazy. I had to go to meetings after... and this is the first Sunday with my new comp and speaking Portuguese. People were like (you speak) and wow everyone had something to say to me. Then I want to lunch, and after we went home I was so tired, I couldn't move.... and my brain was dying, it was crazy. The lord likes to challenge us.... I can say that I am a missionary in brazil, and if I want a batismo, then I have to go get it. I am asking please, please, pray for me, and for the gift of tongues, because I need all the help I can get. The whole world is on my shoulders and I am trying to be strong, but I need some help so please, please, pray for me.
Dawson- It's so hard, but I love every min. Can you see me speaking a new language because I can't. We talk with so many people and have lessons and all the good stuff. It's crazy, good luck at camp and tell everyone Hi for me...
Duncan- so I hear you are getting good at basketball... I am proud of you. Get ready for volleyball because you need to win states. I can't wait until it starts and I get those emails. The volleyball that mom sent me I am using every day in the morning. I am getting some pretty soft hands, guess will have to see who has softer hands after!!!! love you
Declan-Hey buddy how's life? I am glad that you are having fun with everything. Make sure you push hard until the end of school. oh and I am in Mosiah right now. The lord helps the people out of slavery, by putting a deep sleep on the bad guys, and then the people get away....it teaches us that the lord can do anything, and that we need to always have faith in him.

This week has been crazy. Monday on our way to lunch, we saw a live car chase, with like a dozen cars. It was wild. They were flying up and down the street sliding and bumping into stuff... it was so cool to see, like a sports car racing in the movies. That was exciting, but then after lunch we got a call and it said that we needed to head home now because Brazil was going into a protest about the world cup... and that it wasn't safe for us to be out. We went home, and we had to stay in the house the whole next day. This means we couldn't go see Russell M Nelson. We heard that, cars were flipped, busses burned, like wow that's crazy. A full day wasted on the lords time..... yeah so sad. Wednesday was slow and we just did contacts, the same on Friday. I got a hair cut that was really cool, it's always nice to have a new look. On Saturday we went to dinner and some members, with investigators and I had chicken heart, and something else that I really don't know, which is probably a good thing. Sunday was normal, been super busy trying to be a better missionary.

This week was the longest week I think I could have had. Tuesday we did work all day and nothing came out of it. It seems like if you are a fubeca then you get the results that you want, which is nothing, but if you work and try to do the right thing the Lord test you even more. I am going to try to keep my spirits up but wow. On Wednesday we got to go to the temple. Wow, can I tell you how amazing that was. It was so beautiful and peaceful. It is in the middle of a city, but then you walk past the gate, and it is like you are in a garden in heaven. All around you can feel the spirit. It was so cool to be there with the bros. We did our session in Portuguese, and it was really hard, because I am still learning. The C-room was amazing, I sat there and received so much inspiration. It was like a door was opened for us. Thursday I woke up sicker than a dog, and was barely able to move. We worked hard anyways because I am not about to let a sickness stop me from doing the Lords work. I have learned a lot of what I need to become. My mission is not what I thought it was, but it is definitely something I needed to see, so that I can decide who I am. Here I need to pick who I am, and there's no sitting on the fence, pick a side and fight for it. This is going to be so hard. I sometimes don't think I have what it takes. I am dying, every day, and the language is so hard.... I really need so help right now, I need a miracle. Wednesday I get to hear from Elder Russell M. Nelson. I can't wait, I need some inspiration and help. I also might get to see James, so I am really looking forward to that.
Declan I love you so much, I am so proud of you for doing that. I will tell you that you will be so blessed for this, it will change your life. If you follow the lord, through the good and the bad, he will make you mighty. (it is easy to follow the lord when times are good, but it takes a true man to follow the lord when the times are tough) keep up the work!

Hey Famliy, How's life??
This week was and has been the hardest week of them all. We needed to get as many people to church so we can reach our goal of 8 batismo this month.... so we hit the streets..... and wow that was hard. We all talked to at least 40 or more people each for the first few days, then we started to knock doors because we were not have any success. In Brazil the way you knock doors is clapping at the door step. So for 6 hours straight we clapped and tried to share the message. Nothing came out of it. It is because this week was another holiday and so no one is home. Sunday we were supposed to have some batismo... but they all fell through... it made Sunday a drag. Are Brazil companion is struggling and this whole week it has been rough. On a good note, this weekend we had a zone activity and hung out. We played basketball for a long time which I have missed. At first we played Americans vs Brazilians.... we destroyed, so we had to split up the teams. This week Elder Hill bought the game war. The last few nights we have been playing a round. War is a really good game, you get to see the true side of your comps... I have learned a lot from it. Overall this week has just been hard work and not many lessons. We did teach of elderly man who lives in a 1.5 million dollar apartment. Wow, is it perfect, I live there. I can't wait until we go back. The best part is that he loves the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. He says he will get batismo. So that's a win for the Lord. I am on an English fast, I can't speak any English. It is soooooo hard, but I am learning very fast. This Sunday we can Skype with our families. I will be able to Skype around 4-5 my time, not sure when that is for you, but I would love to hear from you guys.

This week has been super slow, we had only a few lessons. which means we just walked the streets, I have never done so many contacts. This week was a Holiday and that means everyone is drunk..... makes doing contacts a blast. We play games like having to put in a word in the contact.... the other day it was orange or really laranja, but it was funny when we said it. Not too much happened this week. My comp. Elder Santos is still struggling. I am still not liking Portuguese more and more..... but that is just because I have only been here for 2 months.... after 6th months I should be fine.... but yeah this week was just a slow week. We did have outback today, a memebro took us... it was amazing.
Dawson- yes my shoes are showing wear... and in two years there will not be much left of them.... hhahahah got to love it!
Duncan- love you kid, keep up the hard work
Declan- I love you buddy
